The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has firmly denied rumours suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Saturday, the Osun PDP described the speculation as false and politically motivated, aimed at distracting the public from the progress being made under the Adeleke administration.
Reacting to the reports, which gained traction on Friday, the party’s state chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, said there was no truth to claims that Adeleke or any structure of the ruling PDP in Osun was defecting to the opposition APC.
“This falsehood, clearly orchestrated by jittery elements within the opposition, is a desperate attempt to divert attention from the transformation currently ongoing under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke,” the statement read.
Bisi reassured party members, supporters, and stakeholders that the PDP remains united, focused, and fully committed to its mission of rebuilding Osun State.
“The PDP in Osun remains intact, cohesive, and stronger than ever. Those peddling these rumours are failed politicians and agents of regression who are rattled by Governor Adeleke’s rising popularity and the administration’s people-focused achievements,” he added.
He emphasized the state government’s commitment to transparent and inclusive governance, assuring citizens that their voices continue to shape policy and decision-making.
“Our open-door policy ensures that your feedback is valued and your concerns are addressed sincerely. The Adeleke-led PDP government will never take the support and trust of Osun people for granted,” Bisi said.
He urged the public to ignore what he called “the mischief of those whose only legacy is the plundering of Osun’s resources,” and reaffirmed that the state government remains focused on delivering quality governance and improving the lives of all residents.
“The Adeleke administration, backed by the PDP, is unwavering in its dedication to service delivery, good governance, and community development across the state. To the good people of Osun, your unwavering support and show of love are deeply appreciated,” he concluded.
