Al-Hikmah University Appoints Prof. Oladimeji as New Vice-Chancellor

The Governing Council of Al-Hikmah University has announced the appointment of Professor Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji as the institution’s 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor.

Prior to his new role, Professor Oladimeji served as the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. A seasoned administrator and scholar, he has held several key positions at the university since its inception.

Among his numerous roles, he was the pioneer Head of the Department of Islamic Studies, a founding member of the University Senate, the first Registrar and Secretary to Council, and the inaugural Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Professional Studies (CPPS). He also served as Director of the Centre for Research, Industrial Linkages and International Collaboration (CRIIC), Director of the Information Unit, Director of Academic Planning, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

Notably, Professor Oladimeji delivered Al-Hikmah University’s maiden inaugural lecture on January 7, 2022, titled “Roving Preachers of the Message: Deconstructing Da’wah Across Borders.”

His appointment marks a new chapter in the university’s drive toward academic excellence and institutional growth.
