TikToker Peller shares childhood trauma, reveals why he converted to Christianity

Habeeb Hamzat, the popular TikTok content creator better known as Peller, has opened up about the painful childhood experience that led him to renounce Islam and embrace Christianity.

During a live session with his fans, Peller recounted his time at a traditional Quranic school, locally known as Ile Kewu, where he endured repeated physical abuse from instructors.

“I’m not a Muslim. I’m a Christian. I go to church,” he declared. “I was beaten severely when I was young at the Quranic school. That’s why I stopped going.”

According to him, the environment that was meant to guide his spiritual development instead became a place of fear and trauma.

Peller said the emotional wounds from that period created a deep disconnect from Islam, ultimately shaping his decision to follow the Christian faith.
