The Kwara State Government has commended the leadership of Ifelodun Local Government Area for its dedication to rural development through the execution of impactful capital projects.
The praise was delivered by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Development, Hon. Abubakar Bata, during a recent project inspection tour conducted by the Ministry across various parts of the local government.
Hon. Bata highlighted that the council’s projects are primarily targeted at rural communities, citing examples such as the construction of a block of two classrooms at Budo-Owode in Share, the grading and rehabilitation of rural roads, provision of boreholes, and the establishment of new market spaces.
He noted that the Executive Chairman of Ifelodun LGA has shown strong commitment to meeting the real needs of residents by focusing on economic development initiatives designed to deliver long-term benefits to grassroots communities.
During the inspection, the Executive Chairman, Hadji Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf, stated that the council’s projects are aimed at complementing the rural development agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, particularly in the area of infrastructure.
He emphasized that all the projects undertaken are based on community requests and align with his administration’s inclusive development strategy.
The Commissioner was accompanied on the tour by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Iyabo Modupe Adekeye, the Director of Local Government Affairs, Mrs. Akande Christiana, and other senior officials of the Ministry.
