Emir of Ilorin mourns passing of Olubadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin

The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, who passed away on Monday at the age of 90.

The Emir’s condolence was conveyed in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin.

Describing the monarch’s passing as “the will of Almighty Allah,” Sulu-Gambari noted that Oba Olakulehin’s one-year reign was marked by peace, wisdom, and a strong commitment to the preservation of Ibadan’s cultural heritage and traditional values.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended families of the late monarch, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Oyo State Council of Traditional Rulers, the government, and the entire people of Oyo State.

The Emir prayed for the peaceful repose of Oba Olakulehin’s soul and asked Almighty God to grant the people of Ibadan, as well as the nation at large, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
