Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has opened up about the painful loss of his first child, revealing she died in a Lagos hospital because he couldn’t afford the medical bills.
In a video shared by Abiola Orisile Events & Parties on YouTube, Chatta recounted the heartbreaking experience while speaking with crew members on a movie set. He said his daughter was taken to a hospital in the Iddo area of Lagos, but despite all efforts to raise funds, he was unable to secure the needed support.
“I trekked from Ijora Badia to Makoko, trying to get money, but I couldn’t. She died because I couldn’t pay the hospital bills,” he said.
He added that the child was eventually buried in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate due to his dire financial situation at the time.
Chatta also clarified that his son Malik is not his firstborn, contrary to popular belief.
